Here’s what POTUS Joe Biden didn’t say this morning in his Inauguration speech about repair and healing:
Rebuilding your skills requires bravery and humility.
It requires an admission that we’ve deviated from the ideal version of ourselves. It involves an honest and unreserved evaluation and dismantling of the procedures that have brought us the current outcome. It requires that we adopt the unfamiliar as if we had been doing it all along.
And that means embracing the unpleasant feelings of discomfort and displacement.
Previously gained experience and proficiency do not preclude us from relearning or replacing inefficient methods.
But if you care enough to be effective, to make an impact, then rebuilding is necessary to becoming remarkable.
